Making woodworking and build videos for more than a year now has been a blast.  Really quite surreal actually.  In the efforts to continually improve my tasks and processes, I need to find better and more efficient

ways to get things done.  A few months back I had the idea to make an overhead trolley system from using Unistrut as my track.  They make trolleys specially designed for this task.  I mentioned this a few videos back and one of my viewers had contacted me wanting to send some of these trolleys.  What an awesome gesture!  So now that I am armed with the some of the supplies, I have no excuse to put it off any longer.  The system will consist of 2 sections parallel from one another mounted approx. 16-18′ apart from one another.  In those pieces will be the trolleys that will hold an 18′ track perpendicular to those.  Fixed to my newly made “gantry” will be various fixtures and holds to place my lighting, camera, note boards and microphones just to name a few.  I am planning on making build videos for each of the steps.  I have never taken on a project like this so it will be interesting to see how everything goes.

My email newsletter is now fixed and everything should be running smoothly.  I will be posting a lot of extra information relating to my builds along with some cool resources I am working on too.  So if you only follow me on youtube be sure to signup so you don’t miss a thing.

Also, in my last build I asked you guys to weigh in on which design of the shadow box you guys liked best.  One layout my wife preferred and one I had liked more.  I am happy to say my design won.  We both liked each very much but as it stands, my wife and I like to compete on the most trivial of matters.  It is only a matter of time before she tries to dethrone me, lol.  As always, if you guys have any questions or comment leave those below.  I always like to see what you have to say.

Hmm Looks like that trolley system could be incorporated into some woodworking jig fixtures. Just sayn.

It probably could – I have a big list of attachments for the trolley – camera and lighting mounts, audio stuff, etc., etc. – all of the attachments will be made of wood and I can’t wait to get started on it
