My wood finish of choice for smaller projects over the last few years has been Deft satin spray lacquer. Around early 2014 I noticed it becoming harder and harder to find. I am super curious to know what happened with it. In my hand plane restoration project I used a cheaper gravity feed sandblaster from Harbor Freight and I really didn’t have good results with it. I suppose the results I got from it were okay, but the quality and ease of use on the sandblaster were really lacking. A sand blast cabinet would be a better option and is on my list of tools to get. I am also running a tool giveaway that ends May 31st 2015. So make sure to sign up.
